Grealish and Webster were the best players on the pitch by an absolute mile. Maupay was alright, nothing more. His strike partner Connelly was absolute shite.

Typical Clyde sourness. No wonder we Hamilton Accies can't stand you.

Maupay playing in either Trezeguet or El Ghazi's positions would have been great.  He's a goal threat, really mobile and never gives defenders a rest.  If I was Trezeguet, I'd be ashamed to still be using that nickname to be honest.

I thought Trezeguet was okay when he came on. He didn't do anything wrong that I could see.

We said the same after the game. He looked lively and think he probably has a chance of starting next week.

I honestly don't see it with Maupay. He's not a bad player but I can't see him playing at a much higher standard than he is now. I agree that I'd like to have another player who can play in either the AEG or Wesley roles but I just think he'd be adding more of a similar quality rather than us improving the team. In the summer we were linked (I've no idea how seriously) with Wissam Ben Yedder who ended up gonig to Monaco. If we want to push on that's the sort of level we should be looking at, someone who will come in expecting to push at the top 6 not just stay clear of the bottom 3.

Same, he was much better than El Ghazi, who had an absolute stinker.

I think you just have to give some players time. Some hit the ground running, some don't. Not been that impressed with him so far but he seems highly regarded. Maybe he just needs a goal and then it will all click.

this term of 'didn't do anything wrong' does my head in

it's been used in the past for any number of players who arnt good enough
Taylor and Elmo at the start of the season 'didn't do anything wrong' no but they didn't do enough good either
they'd still be getting in the team if many people had there way because didn't do anything wrong

we need players in every position who do more than ' didn't do anything wrong'
maybe the better players ie Guilbert and Targett will make more mistakes because they try and make things happen and take more risks, that goes for all players in all positions

I've had many arguments on here about players who haven't done anything wrong to lose the shirt
it's a load of shite you play your best players in every position where possible this is the premier league you don't get points for being nice and giving everyone a go

If that player replaces someone who is doing something wrong throughout the game and is okay then that has to be an improvement surely?

How many games is that now when the opposition has had somebody sent off?  Is it three or four?

Are Grealish McGinn being targeted or are they just very (very) good at drawing fouls?

Trez was fine, he didn't change the game but his energy did stretch the Brighton defence a little bit more than we'd managed earlier in the second half.
