Sorry to have to ask, but who is it?

I can't go to this game due to having my foot injected making me unable to push Mrs Exile's wheelchair.
2-0 Villa win

Isn't this only Brighton's second season in the PL? Desire for their demise seems unduly harsh.

I think the fanzine is 'And Smith Must Score' which was a line of Peter Jones' radio commentary from the first game of the 1983 FA Cup Final when Brighton at striker Gordon Smith was one on one with ManUre keeper Gary Bailey in stoppage time. Bailey basically sat on Smith's shot to keep it out and that was more-or-less the last action of the game. Brighton lost the replay 4-0 which meant ManUre qualified for the Cup Winners Cup and allowed Villa a place in the UEFA Cup.

On the Brighton forum they’re hoping we will be over-confident after the league cup tie!

Surrounded by the buggers down here, you see so many Brighton shirts now compared to 2-3 years ago. You even see coaches and mini buses picking up fans from particular stops in the town I live in. Never saw that happening 2-3 years ago.

It was our second string against theirs (with some of their thirds thrown in), our seniors will still pwn their first choices. Maupay to be sent off for grappling Mings.

Dave does your apparent disdain for Brighton have anything to do with blue and white stripes and the word Albion in their name?

Agree this is the kind of game we need to win and I think we will, 2-0.  Wesley and Grealish.

I have disdain for every other club.
It’s quite funny them being in stripes and being called Albion, makes our near neighbours not even unique in name . A bit like when you see BCFC I always assume Bristol City Football Club.
We know they’re irrelevant for most other football related things.
3-0 Villa. Another attack minded display with a solid defence.

It's hardly a shock that a club gets bigger crowds in the top flight, ours are up 9k compared to 3 years ago.

I was talking about 'Smith must Score'. If he had, and Man Utd had lost that final, we wouldn't have qualified for the UEFA Cup.
