Everyone switched off when Bad Bunny came on.  A bloke I had not ever heard of until a week ago but has a mere  19bn streams.

More fool them if they didn’t relish the significance of that performance.

Yes it certainly full of spice.  Very saucey.

I was thinking more of the cultural and political significance, but I wouldn’t expect you to clock that. Silly jokes are more your thing I suspect.

I knew exactly what you meant. And I agree.  I can tell you’re not HP with me.

Apologies then.

Everyone switched off when Bad Bunny came on.

Who could have blamed them?

It’s the only bit I’ve watched.

Some are saying it’s the greatest half-time Super Bowl show ever. I can’t comment as I haven’t seen many. A solid bed of right-wing ****** didn’t like it, which is always a good sign.

Every year you can find some fans of the artist who'll say it was "awesome", "phenomenal", the "greatest half-time Super Bowl show ever". It was shite, probably the poorest half-time show that I can recall.

But if it's not your sort of jam, you're pretty much always going to think that, aren't you? It's not mine, if I watch it I imagine I'll think it's shit, not much will change that. I love QOTSA but I imagine plenty of people would tell me it's shit and I'd love it. I haven't seen it so maybe it was super terrible, but I pretty much haven't liked most half time shows I have seen for a while now.

Who doesn't like Queens of the Stone Age???

Anyway, musically, sometimes I like Bad Bunny and sometimes it just makes me feel old, which is fine. I have to say that the bit where he says 'God Bless America - sea Chile, Argentina, Uruguay [etc]' was a huge moment in contemporary American masscult.

Maybe, but on this occasion it’s not necessarily fans of the artist, because it transcended music.

You come across a bit snippy. I didn’t see the performance, but I have read about it. You say it was ‘shite’ and seemingly don’t think it ‘transcended music’. Why in particular?

I think you’d have preferred Turning Point’s All-American half-time show BV.

I mean, it's no 'shooting innocents in the head' or 'being nonce', but I thought it was alright.
