"There should be a new rule in the Premier League. Just let these two have a go at each other every week." Would you ever f*ck off?

I laughed at that too, but it shows what they really want to show every week.  Then I thought it may be a good idea for the rest of us to get more points playing the other 18 teams.

You can see why though. 750 million global viewers for the live game. 220/230m for the Super Bowl.

Seems low for the Super Bowl.

This is what I read on yahoo! sports (posted before this year’s final):

“When combining U.S. and international audiences, total numbers often exceed 150 million, with some analyses suggesting figures closer to 200 million or more.”

And this on X:

It is estimated that the Liverpool-Manchester City match had a global audience of between 700 and 750 million viewers, compared to an estimated 220 million viewers for the 2026 Super Bowl.

I’m not disputing the viewing figures and would assume a massive drop off in viewers at HT in the SB.

And weirdly it was only 20mil four seasons ago (watching live).

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/apr/09/manchester-city-liverpool-premier-league-audience-worldwide

Anyone got a link to the USA Network actual post stating that rather then people just stating it without linking.
There is nothing on their twitter but wrestling items, which seems strange if they were showing it.

More fool them if they didn’t relish the significance of that performance.

I was thinking more of the cultural and political significance, but I wouldn’t expect you to clock that. Silly jokes are more your thing I suspect.
