I like our lad Marco Bizot. He must have accumulated loads of confidence points with our defence, today.

Not a great first MOTD appearance for Villa, but Toon didn’t get a win, no matter what the focus was ( according to MOTD).

Different from MOTD. The ‘dramatic’ game at the end.

Good idea, I wonder how they will decide throughout the season?

Rooney is 15 years younger than Shearer and yet looks older than him.

He has the air of a James Gandolfini. A man always destined to die well before his time.

Even when he was a player at his peak he didn't look well.

I had a laugh at Shearer thinking a return train ticket from Newcastle to Birmingham is £30.

I thought the £30 referred to the away ticket but wasn’t paying full attention

No. As it is cross country and there is no competition you couldn't even get one way for less then £40.

No, he showed his ignorance again there by saying they paid £60/70 for a ticket, before the train fare faux-par.

Wasn't the Liverpool game shown last because it took place on Friday, not Saturday?

Probably, on reflection!

Just thought that there had been a sudden exciting change to the old MOTD format.
Ah well, as we were.
