Yep, can’t remember the last time I watched MOTD live. Always fast forward the waffling, unless there’s a contentious decision discussion or it’s our match.

Adding extra analysis isn’t a selling point for me.

Apart from live sport or the news I don't watch anything live. I can't imagine watching a quiz show live for instance. Listening to people tell me what jobs they do and some shit banter? I want you to lose, let's crack on 🙂.

This sounds a bit crap!!

I already fast forward through most of the analysis.
So less football, more gibberish .

Samir Shah has no clue I don’t like what he had to say about more working class from northern england being present .
from what I see and hear there are heaps of Manchester based reporters already at BBC

The CL MOTD generally good. My 5 year old does the fast forwarding except for Unai interviews

Unless they invite you on the show.

Yippee more moronic laughing by the TV whore that is Richards and if I have any more monotone Danny Murphy I might open a vein.

I to only watch on record with a finger on fast forward. It just shows how out of touch the BBC is with the general public

Richards said it was in November that he knew Villa were to get relegated when he was there.
November!

There’s something about Richards that doesn’t add up generally i feel.

This though in the bad old days

Where we are now makes think that was another club!

C'mon now, we all wanted an interview with Sir Jim Ratcliffe on the News at Ten.

The BBCs football coverage has been on the slide for years and this idea is just another nail in its Coffin. They need to ask themselves a very simple question - why does everyone put the kettle on or go to the bog, walk the dog etc at half time during live games? - because most people want action, not chat thats why.

I actually think he's right.

If it were up to me I'd have no more than 5mins of highlights per game (also available on iplayer alongside a longer version).
I'd then have about the same amount of time (for each game) to talk about incidents, have interviews, etc.

Highlights are easy to find and if that's all you're after there are many better options. For MotD to survive it needs to add something on top. That does mean they need to improve the quality of the analysis though. Get someone doing what Adam Cleary or Statman Dave offer and I think the show would be all the better for it.

I don't mind the analysis on MOTD, as it can sometimes be fairly insightful.  The half time punditry on live games is nauseating though and I don't tend to watch it or the pre-game stuff.

For the first time ever whilst at home I watched the Euro final on ITV, not that I watched any half time twaddle there either.

The Beeb's coverage of England games was utterly embarrassing. One match suggested it was like us under Eric Black and another like Brazil 1970 - neither were in any way true.
