Gary is currently earning £1,350.000.00 per year are they going to be a third each of that amount.

Why does it take 3 presenters to replace 1? oh it is the BBC!

Oh dear , Kelly dalglish , a further extension of the Liverpool love in then on the Beeb .

She’s pretty good normally.

It needs a freshen up. The post match analysis are tedious beyond belief and the main reason I condense the programme down to 30 minutes on a Sunday morning by using the ffwd button

Mark Chapman is already part of the MotD team.

I would imagine it's because they are changing the format.

It was typical of the evil BBC to try to hide their Liverpool bias by having an ex-Everton centre-forward as the main host for the last twenty-five years. You need to try a bit harder than that to fool our Tim, though.

A great appointment. She's always been great, as has Gabby Logan. And "Chappers" is more than decent as well.Happy with all three

I actually don't mind Lineker to be honest.

I’ll be sad when GL finishes his stint on MOTD, as well.

I don’t think I’ll ever forget the bet and ultimate appearance in his undies when Leicester did the unbelievable thing and won the League. (Can’t see anyone else getting into that position, again!) What a good sport.

GL probably only got the gig because of his international career which he only got because of the heartbreaking injuries to the great Gary Shaw. Still, GL seems personable enough, puerile jokes aside.

Good, she's great. https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2024/dec/15/kelly-cates-to-replace-gary-lineker-on-bbcs-match-of-the-day

Yeah, I really like her. I really like Gabby Logan, great choices.

Alright VillaTim, who would have been your inspired choice?

Joey Barton probably. He seems the type.

Re Barton a Gashead mate of mine refused to go when he was manager there.

Think I said before , I'd have liked guest presenters , more rotation . Don't see why it has to be the same person / persons week after week . There's plenty of options out there and it keeps it fresh. Lineker was there way too long as was Hansen as was Lawro and the likes of Murphy etc . Share it about more it's tax payers money in effect .

Maybe, although he also was a pretty good goalscorer by himself anyway with a 1-2 ratio. So even if Shaw had usurped him internationally, he would have still been a big name for football in the mid 90s and could have still gone into broadcasting if he wanted. Remember he was only a pundit anyway and was thrown into the actually presenting (which is a totally different subset) when he had to replace Des Lynam at short notice.

I can answer this for Tim: Clarkson, Ure, Newbon, Tim. And, err Brian May.

No top 5 , I'd just like rotation , rather than same old faces . BBC love to do this though and not just in sport e.g. Claudia Winckleman  etc . Christ just shake it up a bit .
