any team who has  Marvellous , SJM , JG and Tyrone Mings will not be going down.

Excellent performance and not that suprised.

Well done Villa.

Until we next lose, then the world caves in.

I think very few react to single results like that.

For Hourihane's goal, Targett, an Aston Villa left back, hunts the ball down on the edge of the 'D'. Our first, fantastic first time control and lay-off of a dropping ball by an Aston Villa right back.

Great days to be alive.

And this is why plenty of people were frustrated seeing Taylor and Elmo in the team against Tottenham. Neither of them has been particularly poor this season but they're just out-of-date. Proper modern fullbacks who are as good going forward as they are defending and who have the technical skills to play in the centre of midfield are an absolute must because they're the players who will so often find themselves with the time and space to make things happen.

My brother gets unbelievably wound up by that thing Elmo does wherein he never hits a cross first time, he always stops the pass, rolls his foot over the top of the ball, then hits it.

I have noticed Luiz doing similar, but it normally immediately precedes the ball nestling in the top right corner, not looping beyond the back post.

Taylor does similar, he stops the ball, then moves it out of his feet and then crosses towards defenders who have, generally, then had time to get into position and turn away from goal.

Targett looks really good to me. Adds a completely new outlet down the left flank.

No matter who you play, not matter what their injuries, you have to be ruthless and win games like this. And we did.  Fantastic Villa.  Well done. So nice not be to be in the bottom three going into the international break. There are still things to learn from.  The casual penalty, the casual pass back.  It keeps us honest.

Played some fantastic attacking football, a joy to watch. Midfield is superb.

Agree targett looks a key player. I think without him the formation breaks down, as it did against Burnley when he got injured.

Norwich is a great away day, it’s just a shame it’s so awkward to get to. Their fans are generally a decent, friendly bunch too.

The whole team were on it from minute one to minute ninety today. MOTM for me was Marvelous, who was just superb. The final score actually flattered Norwich.

Special shout out to the bellend behind me who called for Wesley to be taken off as he’s shit, in the 8th minute! Otherwise, the support was brilliant.

If we wanted it could have been double figures, great performances from Wes, football in a library, Sjm and super jack - was never in doubt.

It’s a shit of a journey as well with the a14 closed by Cambridge.

Took us 4.5 hours to get there on the coach today. Thank god we won!

In defence of that person, eight minutes in Norwich seems like eighty minutes.

We really needed that, felt so good. Norwich have injuries but we slaughtered them. Everyone had a good game really but MOTM to Marvellous. He won’t get the pundits going but I love players like him and they are crucial if you want to stay up. Broke up play and allowed SJM and Grealish to play.

Now THAT feels much better

Are you talking about

A. Todays result
B. A dump you have just taken
C. A w*nk you have just had

 ;)

Or all three within 90 mins. Just imagine that

Late to the party, but gotta love how 'having sex' was just nowhere in the list of options. Personalising the Realistic Expectations thread I see.

not even a reference to Douglas Luiz goal. Had that been Messi or Ronaldo we would have seen it shown a dozen times

This is true, the guy hits the ball from open play like most (excluding Conor) would kill to hit it from a dead ball. Special talent.
