Get that rain dance up a notch…due to start at 1.55 and Pears are batting first….with Jones and Hose in the middle order :-(

Currently the only player to make double figures, and certainly the only recognised batsman to manage it. Fingers crossed for a bit of a tail wag.

You jinxed him Paul.

He hasn’t been a great red ball success…good as a white ball player though.

If the rain stays off (which I doubt) you want us all out quickly as they have no batting back bone to stand up to the conditions and could be 4/5 down quickly…350/400+ in these conditions is a big ask to get max batting points

Tail have done the business though, even 100+ is a very good score from where you were and, as you say, getting them in for a bit in these conditions could easily see them collapse in a similar way.

Just to be clear, I've been watchnig in on youtube for a while and the conditions are really tough and apparently were far worse earlier.

Unsurprisingly no play at New Road before lunch today…just liked on the live stream and ground staff removing some of the covers plenty of water on the sheets

No Play at New Road today, outfield is a swamp.

Game on at Trent Bridge, looking pretty easy to bat on so far. Also looks fucking cold for Cricket.

Wouldn't be applicable to every match, but one rule I'd introduce would be to allow teams to forfeit their first innings and have bonus points carried over to the second innings.

It's silly that the rules effectively punish teams who try to make a game of it.

Such an underwhelming season for the Bears.

Reading Benjamin is off to Kent.

Yep, which is weird when we had a semi-final and quarter-final but we just seem to collapse any time it looks like we might achieve something.

The game today is going exactly as I suspected, the pitch looks pretty friendly so I'd be surprised if we aren't chasing 350-400 so we either need to focus on bonus points or, more realistically, just dodge the follow-on.
