Virdi and Van Beek joining the Pears for the last four games.  A timely boost.

A definite boost…Logan is as good a replacement for Nathan Smith as we could hope for

Bears are giving Kent a bit of a kicking so far this morning.

110/7 just before lunch.

3 for Booth, 2 for OHD and 1 each for Barnard and Rushworth.

It should have been even better.

Compton (70) was dropped on one form a straightforward chance to fourth slip. Rushworth was the bowler.

Other than the Brilcreem Bellend delaying the inevitable, great day for the Bears. We really need to win this, please no batting to death to ensure a draw.

You should take care of Kent sometime late today or tomorrow-that’ll see them pretty much gone and you guys fairly safe.  Notts and Lancashire will do very well to get positive results from their games and unless we get really stuck in with the ball today I don’t see we have much more than bowling points to play for vs Essex after being 10-4 after half hour yesterday (hope I am wrong tho!)

Looks like the bears mean business this morning, Rhodes is swinging hard.

Gotta be looking at 3 or 4 batting points.

Disappointing end to innings, losing the last three wickets without scoring, but, still.... four batting points and a 264 lead. If we don't win this we won't win this season. Double century for Rhodes. COYB.

It felt like when we tried to push so we could go for the 5th bonus point we got in a bit of a mess and once we lost a couple we'd 'shown our hand' and didn't want to switch back. Booth, Rae and Rhodes were all really soft but I think we decided we'd got enough of a lead anyway.

What a win for the Pears,  after being 10 -4 and 46-5 in the first innings,  then a deficit of 150 odd.

Wow - be a mid table derby clash next week at this rate.

Great week for Bears & Pears alike

No, but both are at least a full win ahead of Lancashire and they have 2 tough games ahead.  Likely the winner of the derby next week will be fully safe
