I think today has killed off our title challenge.
This result will break us. We are going down.
Way too ambitious in the Summer and it may cost us. The signings were based on ideology and not in practicality. Much like Summer 2015 - the players aren't bad, but you can't integrate that many without a solid unit and expect to get away with it. The squad we went down with were the second worst squad in Premier League history, a few years on and look at Amavi, Gana Gueye, Veretout, Adama and Ayew now. They'd form half of a solid midtable side.We went for the juggular with our approach, trying to uneaerth gems and refused to take any loans. Imagine another world where we'd have been more pragmatic and looked at Cahill, Phillips and Delph and loned in Wilson and Benteke instead of Engels, Nakamba, Luiz and Trezeguet. We'd have been much better off and given us a solid base to allow the younger and inexperienced players to develop from.
