We haven't played badly, but with shown a great level of naivety in our own defensive third and haven't put much in the way of decent delivery into the box.

I'm not sure where the optimism comes from that we should beat Everton. They're a good side and difficult to break down. If we score first,  we have a chance, concede first and I think we'll get beat again.

I think we are quite capable of beating Everton

I still believe in this squad and I don’t think we have seen anything like the best of it yet
But we do need to be more positive and have belief in ourselves

I like the badly dressed fans comments. So of course they all come down dressed like millionaires or something?  Yet another teams supporters would have you believe we are middle to upper class range rover drivers. We cant win!

I drive a Range rover, and I am scruffy.

Would not surprise me to see Dean go with Davis to start, and bring on Moraes off the bench if warranted in 2nd half. The latter is clearly way off the pace and his hold up play has been shite, which is something Keinan can offer us at least, if not goals.

I agree in some ways but I really think Wesley should get more starts and more chances to build confidence in a game when we’re not under the cosh because we’re either rank underdogs or on the back foot from the first minute.

They seemed to develop a hard on over us during MONS reign as they'd often out play us but we'd still get a result. Wether their dislike of us was there before that, fuck knows.

Seeing as this is on the tele I can only see a repeat of this

One of my favourite matches.

Ormondroyd rampaging down the wing

I wouldn't like to admit to the amount of times I watched this on video as a kid.

Surely their jealousy is because we are the biggest club in a much bigger city while they are, a brief period apart, the also rans in theirs.

I did like the 1980s Everton to be fair, but they've never looked like repeating that since.

They're obviously referring to Percy.

Said it once, but I'll say it again, I am shit scared our failure to buy another striker is going to bite us on the arse.

Two games in and we're already talking about Keinan Davis - a totally unproven striker - being brought in. It's not good.

Where's Ads and what have you done with him?!
Nice one Risso - That made me chuckle
Possibly for the first time ever I find myself agreeing totally with a post from Ads :)

Likewise I shall resist endorsing comments made by Evertonians made on their fanzines sites ........defending Scousers  et al has previously got me in hot water :)

I have many friends who follow Everton and without exception they have never made a disparaging comment to me about the Villa ...at least not to my face
I always think as a club they are on a par with our own club in most respects, with our ground being superior to theirs .....plus we have more than one song !!

I think we have to stick with Wesley for now, unless he has a Butland like shocker. Would knock his confidence too much to drop him. Hopefully he can play better tomorrow and then play him against Crewe on Tuesday.
