As Dean Smith has just pointed out - he was one of three in a back four that conceded very few goals in the last 15 games last season (after leaking loads).  He (Smith) is obviously keen on a fair degree of continuity. UTV.
True, but he was the worst of the four.

Unbelievable, since May, all the “in Deano we trust” has disappeared before we’ve even kicked a ball !?!

We’ve all got opinions, and this site is for posting them but lay off Deano, he’ll have his reasons, either dealt with illness or injuries , or just simply his choice
As he’s just said, 3 of our back 4 were on a very long winning run last year

Haven’t read anyone having a go at Dean. It’s opinions as you say, I won’t agree with everything he does but I agree he knows more than me. I am surprised at Taylor starting, but that’s not having a go at Dean. I did have a Moab about Dean, in the pub after Brentford away, and keep getting reminded of it ha ha

More hysteria because people are having their say. This is a discussion forum. Suggesting Targett might have started ahead of Taylor doesn't mean we're all suddenly turning on the manager!

You’ve repeated myself.....agree it’s a site for posting opinions. But there are too many already moaning about Deano’s Choices, that’s what he gets paid for.
We don’t see what happens at BMH all week or the stats they use

As surprised as everyone else, but trusting Dean Smith and his coaching team.

Guilbert was great in pre-season though not to be on the bench might point to an injury.

Elmo didn't feature that much in the warm-up games given his involvement for Egypt (which was more than decent). Maybe Elmo gets the nod to help settle and support Trez.

Taylor is a surprise, though the grief he gets from some is over the top.

We signed 12, and six are starting and another four are on the bench. Away at Spurs first up and you could make a case for being defensively conservative particularly with Jack and the front three, so that might explain why Taylor gets the nod. UTV.

If Neil Taylor is our best bet when we want to adopt a defensively conservative approach, god help us against the rest of the top 4 is all I can say.

Yeah against joke teams, not effing Lucas Moura and Erik Lamela! Oh well, I really hope I'm wrong but my feelings aren't good about this.

Well, a little underwhelmed by the starting 11, but really only the full-backs. I think everyone thought Fred and Targett would start, but I trust Dean to make the right decisions, and I'm sure he's picked them for good reason!  UTV!

I’d suggest that anyone questioning why Taylor is playing or other selections are challenging Dean, as he’s selected them !

Anyway, let’s make a good account of ourselves

No Guilbert even on the bench? Interestingly that's seven of the play-off final team playing today - all these pundits saying we've changed the whole team! What do they know?
