I've been a bit disappointed with him so far.  Decent shot stopper but has dropped a couple of clangers and  I also think he should have been out and claiming that cross for Wood's goal, it was right into the six yard box.

He's clearly got all the attributes you need a modern keeper to have, but I'm still waiting for a match winning performance from him.  He's got the best, most settled central defensive pairing we've had in years in front of him, so hopefully we'll start to see a lot more from him soon.

Jury's out for me on Heaton. I've not seen anything yet that places him ahead of Steer. Costly vs Bournemouth and lacking in focus vs Burnley especially for 2nd goal, where he should have either come for the ball or organised his defence better.

Brain fart for penalty against Bournemouth aside I cannot see what he has done wrong

If being super critical maybe the lining up of the wall versus the Arse could be added

I'm more worried about Mings and Engels to be honest - from looking rock solid we are letting in some really soft goals

I have huge time for Heaton and was vocal about wanting him over Butland but by the same token I thought not giving Steer a chance was a bit of a shame.

I think the message to Heaton now should be "Jed is pushing for a start based on his cup performances, so step it up".

He hasn't done anything wrong as such, he's just not saving the shots you'd hope he'd save.  And he should have come for the ball against Burnley.

Disribution 100 better, saved plenty, organises defence better - in short a much better keeper

Don't agree re distribution.

Heaton kicked the ball straight out of play on the half way so many times vs spurs that I think it was a significant factor on us losing.

He's repeated this trick fro.time to time in the other games as well.

Yeah I'm not sure how anyone can say his distribution is better, it isn't - it's his major weakness.

Actually I think this is one of Jed Steer's biggest issues and most of his goalkicks went out for a throw-in on the left hand side last season.  Heaton has done that a few times himself, but is an improvement.

Pulled out of the England squad with an injury.

Hopefully nothing too serious.

Reportedly the same injury he picked up in the Norwich game.  As he completed the 90 there I wouldn't be too concerned.  He may as well come back to us as he was likely to be 2/3rd choice anyway, not worth a risk.
