Completed his medical.

Can I briefly cut through the past goalkeeper debate to ask how one can know this? Or are you just guessing?

He doesn’t, he’s read it elsewhere then presents someone else’s views/opinions/news as his own facts.

You could have just said he follows that medical bloke on Twitter.

I really hope that is his official Twitter username. 'Thatmedicalbloke'.

Heaton showing his class today so far, those calling for Steer to start the first game are you still sure you want him to start against Spurs?

He kept us in a game that we would have been losing which later paid dividends. I can see why the Burnley fans have been saying what they've been saying.

Top drawer - if only we'd had a more measured approach to this position, we could have saved millions.

I thought his save in the first half from their deflected shot was very good too.

In my opinion, one of the biggest signings for years. We haven't had a really decent, consistent keeper since Brad Friedel.

One of my mates is a Burnley fan & he's gutted they've lost him. Great signing.

think we saw yesterday the difference of having a absolute top class keeper behind the defence

the saves are one thing but all keepers can make good saves shot stoppers is what they are
what we really needed was a keeper who commanded his area would come for the ball and make brave decisions and was a vocal organiser on the pitch

we got all that with Heaton
even with a big character like Mings at centre back you get the feeling Heaton will be the leader of the defensive pack, he has the experience and authority that Steer doesn’t have right now

I’ve said from the start a top class goalie is a must for us this season
and agree with others who have said it just might be the best bit of business this summer

I’ll be interested to see if we get many clean sheets next season.

Received wisdom seems to be smith’s approach is press high and risk conceding but to me our defence including Heaton suddenly looks very well balanced and that’s before you add an effective DM in front of them.

In just 90 minutes against Leipzig, Heaton showed us why we have signed him. He made some incredible saves that I doubt Steer would have even got close to, and that can easily translate to points on the board in the Premier League. Could be our best signing of the summer.

Steer did more than enough to get us into the premiership. Perhaps he can learn from Heaton and one day lead us into the champions league.
