How about Jim Herriot (not the vet, though he would have been better) I don't think he ever played for the first team and considering how bad we were then that says a lot about how shit he was.  Was he just a loan?  I can't remember.

Schmeichel?

Thought he was dreadful for us, cost us a goal a game. Almost as bad as Carson.

He did score one for us. It annoyed me that he had it written into his contract that he was first choice when fit regardless of form.

Carson was very good for us. Until that England appearance.

Probably not the most glamorous of our signings but certainly one of the most important and the price is the bargain of the summer.

Agreed. You could just see the difference that blunder made to his performances.

Don’t know what happened to Guzan  either, he was superb when he first got in the team, Given replaced him was atrocious, Guzan got back in was pretty good then once established he turned into a right bellend.

It's a shame for Jed, but Heaton will be starting. I'd be tempted to bring Steer on if the opposition get a penalty late on, like Holland did with Krul in some World Cup or Euros.

Partly because younger, shorter, goalkeepers tend to be better at saving penalties, partly to psyche out the opposition.

Problem with that is I reckon you'd piss off the first choice keeper no end.  Also from the Youtube video at least, Heaton seems to have the reflexes of a cat.

You mean like that whole Kepa fiasco at Wembley last season?

Totally fucked him up confidence wise. He had really grown into the role prior to that
