Adverts issues
« on: July 26, 2019, 12:14:01 PM »
Hi,

Just a heads-up.  Adverts seem to be stopping the site loading for a length of time (30 secs to 2 mins) for me. Have turned my ad blocker back on for H&V as it is an unreasonable wait time for the site to load.  Seems to be happening on random adverts with no pattern.  I am running Chrome on Win7 Enterprise

Hello. Every time I go to a new page (or return to an old one) I get the pop up claiming to respect my privacy and asking if I accept ads/cookies.

I was getting the same in Firefox. I restarted my browser, which updated Firefox and it seems to have solved the problem.

I had the same, there’s a Privacy Warning thread below this  one, I bookmarked the link in the last message and that worked for me.

Thank you. It's clearly linked to my home computer as the work one has no such issue.

I'm not fussed about most of the adverts as you need to pay for the servers / sites. However the one that does my nut is the one that opens at the bottom of the screen. It normally only takes up the middle third but as it is transparent, it stops me clicking in the buttons / links at the bottom of the page. Takes me about 5 seconds to realise why each time, that is if it doesn't register me clicking post as a click on the advert itself.

You need to go into your Profile and change the theme to HandV GM

A dodgy advert is hijacking the browser to a flash update scam. Careful everyone without adblock etc.
