Marv made a couple of errors tonight but overall he was very good. He has to keep up his perormance level to change the minds of some.

Me too, mate. I thought he was hopeless before, but am happy to feast on humble pie.

He played very well last night, as he has in every game since Gerrard has taken us over.

Another good performance last night. I don't know what Gerrard is telling him, but it's having the desired effect.

I also enjoyed his no-fucking-about exit when subbed, he legged it off and gave an enthusiastic display of encouragement his replacement.

Little things, but we're chasing an equaliser and it showed an appreciation of that and a commitment to the team ethic.

Did ok yesterday, looked a bit blown out so I'm not surprised he was replaced and there were a couple of times he won the ball and tried to play a pass he hasn't got the ability for and gave away possession again but he's showing he can be a big part of the squad. It makes the need for a new midfielder less urgent if he can keep this up.

He didn't really get near them first half, and lost out on a couple of 50/50 balls, but on the whole did OK. I'd quite like to see a Luiz/McGinn/Sanson midfield against Leicester though.

I thought he was ok, but he still struggles with his distribution. Often when he wins the ball he’ll immediately give it away again.

The great thing about his poor distribution is that it immediately gives him the opportunity to make another tackle. I thought he did very well.

His passing against Palace was pretty good, less so yesterday but he's against a world class midfield.  Still pretty pleased with his last 3 games.  He deserves his place.

Who's this bloke that Gerrard brought in with him?

I called loudly for him to be moved on in the Summer, but he looks like a different animal under Gerrard. Keep it up Marv!
