I know what you mean but at the same time if we get the player either way and the rest is just admin then it makes no difference to anything besides fans getting a bit impatient for a week or two.

I guess the obvious risk is you leave room for other clubs to hijack deals but there’s no evidence that that’s happened/going to happen so I’m relaxed about it.

Nah, I think he meant we're slow at finalising the deals.

That's what I meant. There's instances where the fee has been agreed, terms have been agreed, the medical has been done but it still takes a while before there's an official announcement. I thought Nakamba would have been announced yesterday with the words 'subject to international clearance' added at the end. And with Trezeguet it was announced as being subject to international clearance and I never saw anything about clearance being granted, just saw him playing against Walsall.

The recruitment team have truly done a great job this summer. Both in identifying who they wanted and the way they've gone about bringing them in.
Trezeguet didn't play against Walsall, did he? Charlton - yes.

Sorry, yes Charlton.

Agreed about it being fan impatience. The problem with working from home is that I’m checking for updates every few minutes. The irony being is that probably all the official announcements have been when I’ve been busy.

I can't get a read on him from all his highlights videos. I see Carlos Sanchez with a better motor?

Just about the opposite to Sanchez!

It was the lack of any sort of motor or physicality that made Sanchez such a disappointment, in my opinion.  He always looked bewildered by the English game, and knackered after 60 minutes.

I always felt Sanchez suffered from never having a summer break. Every bloody summer he was playing in tournaments and coming back to Villa knackered. Lovely player but you could set your clock on 60 minutes he'll fall apart.

I just love the name Marvelous Nakamba. He sounds like a character created by Lenny Henry to be the best mate of Algernon Razzamatazz.

Should we have signed Marvelous Nakamba? 'Algernon says okay'.

I have got that song stuck in my head now.

Ha! Indeed. Oh as supporters, how we've suffered for far too long. The references to today and 1975 ring very true.

Does he spend most of the match running 5 yards behind an opponent?

I just see someone who can time a lunge and play tidy at times. But again, this is totally going off highlights videos. I’m no scout.
