Media day today so maybe they were tied up doing that all day.  Still over a week of the window to go and it gets quite exciting to still be involved up to the deadline.

Or the Home Office do.

Normally a deal is announced with 'subject to work permit' tagged with an asterix next to it.

Looks quick footed and good at drobbling but will need to learn to stay on his feet rather than his arse.

Drobbling will do that to you though.

Arse and drobbling in the same sentence. Issues.

We do seem to take our time getting deals over the line.

Couldn't agree more. It's been 65 days since the Play-Off Final and we've only managed to sign 11 players and move on another 8. They really need to pull their fingers out.

Agreed. We’ve been simply outstanding this summer and getting deals done. All this doing a Fulham bollocks when in reality we are the very opposite getting all our incoming business done with the exception of maybe a striker by the end of July. And there’s still a day to go. To get almost all of the players in a good number of days before the deadline is very impressive.

What did you mean then? You know it's not as easy as making an offer then wrapping the whole thing up in a couple of days.

Think he means we're not panicking (for a change).

Nah, I think he meant we're slow at finalising the deals.

That's what I meant. There's instances where the fee has been agreed, terms have been agreed, the medical has been done but it still takes a while before there's an official announcement. I thought Nakamba would have been announced yesterday with the words 'subject to international clearance' added at the end. And with Trezeguet it was announced as being subject to international clearance and I never saw anything about clearance being granted, just saw him playing against Walsall.

The recruitment team have truly done a great job this summer. Both in identifying who they wanted and the way they've gone about bringing them in.

What if it is just the appropriate amount of time to do things correctly? To make sure everything has been verified and paperwork submitted, i’s dotted, t’s crossed. None of us truly know once two clubs have  agreed a fee what constitutes the final steps in a deal. Especially with a non EU player. And I imagine as the UK exits Brexit it will only get more complex. So just because a deal is agreed doesn’t mean all of the other stuff has. It’s a lot more than a medical.
