Douglas who?

Already i am thinking about the players coming in and the ones that want to be here.

Well kind of, but he’s played a big role in the improvement in our fortunes over the last few years so he deserves recognition for that. We don’t have to ignore all players who leave.

My summation of Doug and his time at Villa - lovely footballer who has created some brilliant moments at the club. He has played a key role in our transition from relegation candidates to Champions League qualifiers. When he joined if you told me he’d stay 5 years and achieve what he has I’d have been delighted. We’re selling him at a profit and he’s going abroad, which is a bonus. I’m sad he’s going, but I’ll have fond memories of his time here. I wish him well.

Absolutely no chance we'd even entertain bids for Watkins this summer.
Unless there is a Release clause or an unbelieveably silly bid say £115m

Even then we'd be telling them to do one.

Him going abroad rather than to a rival softens the blow.

Weird, I think the blokes amazing, yet he goes with my blessings. Whereas I’ve hated players instantly in the past.

Is it because he going abroad and therefore it feels less like he’s cheating on us?

Yes it is.  It's also that he's helped us to achieve something we've been wanting to do for a very very long time and play again at the very top level.  He didn't fuck off when we were on the cusp (like others we won't name).

I'd add that it's also because we know that Unai Emery is at the helm and the man's a footballing genius.  I am completely confident that Emery will make us better next season.

Ditto - 204 Appearances 22 goals including 17 in the last 2 seasons. He will be remembered as a key part of the rise from relegation favourites to champions league. Just a shame we didn’t win the conference league as that cements the memories of players for fans.

I guess part of the reason this doesn't sting as much is that we're not relying on him to the same degree that we were with, say, joe or delph. Added to the fact that we have a managerial genius, it doesn't feel like our future success is in peril with him leaving.

It's clearly disappointing, but that is a sign of how good he had become, however, I also agree with Paul.

Good luck to him.

Why don't we tell those cheating ****** from Turin to fuck off unless they can come up with straight £60M in cash to be delivered in one bundle and no instalments as we can't trust them, and no we don't want a Leeds misfit in part payment either.
