It's paying to jump the queue.  Bit like a fast pass at Alton Towers.  Bloody annoying when other people have them, but if you want to get to the front of the queue you've got no choice.

The Cubs membership is good value - last time it included 4 match tickets and a load of free stuff, so worth a lot more than the £25 we paid for it.  Claret membership doesn't offer much other than the right to buy tickets, but unfortunately that seems to be the way of the world now.  Virtually all teams or sporting venues where demand is likely to outstrip supply have these schemes in place.

The £35 fee also included £10 off the first ticket you bought with the membership, so £25 really.  For those keen to be able to go to a game or games, but for whom a season ticket wasn't viable or possible, the membership was the proverbial no-brainer.

Like Alton Towers and like everywhere else it seems just another way of taking easy money from a captive audience. but as the Lactose Lothario said, that's the way of the modern world.

I've been looking at this on the official site. Does Claret membership get you next in queue for away tickets after season ticket holders?

yes, but very rarely got to that stage in 19/20 (first season back in the PL).

I never managed to get free tickets for my cub anyway because they are only free if they are in the family area and it was always impossible to get into the family area!

I've not had an invitation (yet!).  Is is still £35 for a year/season?

It's £40 for U65's and £30 for O65's with a 20% discount if you are renewing + £2.95 for P&P. No £10 off a ticket now. So it's cost my 2 sons £34.95 each and me £26.95 (I'm a wrinklie !)

Thanks.  Did you all get an email from the club, inviting you to renew?

It was my son who got the email. I think my email preferences may be set to get lost. His all go to my email anyway as he's only 9.

Looks to be more stuff this year though. And you can get a no priority purchase membership for 30 quid. And a women's team one.

Cubs is split into 3 to 11 and 12 to 17. With a free version for the under 3s.

What's  the timeframe for renewing? Currently the website doesn't have an option to buy one.
