I get Kappa isn’t the greatest but some will never be happy unless it has Puma or Nike or Adidas on it. It’s a kit. The colours are correct and the design is very traditionally Aston Villa. This years kit looks just fine And the away looks very decent in the images we’ve seen so far. The away kit has creative licence. It won’t be for everyone and it’s not meant to be.

Colours and tradition are the important bits every new season. This delivers on that.

For me the blue is still far too pale to describe as correct or traditional. It's a world away from the blue of the 1980/81 home kit or the 81/82 European Cup winning kit, or even the 1957 FA Cup winning shirt.

It certainly isn't the blue from our shirts in the '90s, though I'm not saying that's a bad thing either.

It's a sort of pale powder blue, which is fine so long as we acknowledge it's not the traditional blue of our colours really.

The new strip is fine, colours look there or thereabouts (© Brucey) although I agree the blue is still a bit too pale.   I don't think the colours have been quite right since we dropped Nike or they dropped us, but the last few have been closer than the Makron fiascos.

I like it. Colours are correct - just need it without the sponsor then very happy.

I think the colours are spot on and it has the ultimate prerequisite of any Villa kit - Claret body, blue sleeves, white shorts, blue socks. Job done.

Looks like the aged 5 full kit has the same size shirt as the 6 year old youth kit but is cheaper. Figure that out...

Anyone care to tap in the open goal here? Perhaps Hen could put his crayons down for the equaliser?

I was in the shop on Monday and was surprised there was no mention of the new shirt anywhere. I thought there might be at least a manakin showing it off, but no. Not a thing.

Just Kappa trying to get rid of what’s left, and not at what I’d call sale prices either.

I did buy myself the 1980/81 home shirt again, love the material on that one. I gave my last one to a friend who left to live in Japan.

I still keep an eye out for a Japanese bloke in a Villa shirt wherever I go here, mate!

You’d be unlucky to find another Japanese lad wearing an 80/81 Villa shirt that’s a bit too big for him!!

Apparently the new kit is available in the store tomorrow. Weird as I didn’t think it was October yet.

Quality looks bad. The shirt looks bad. Yes it ticks the boxes, but never a classic.
