Weird game. They seem way deeper since we scored, and well organised at the back making it hard to play through them.

Even if it doesn't come to anything, how sexy is it to see us playing one-touch football all over their box?
Sexy, one-touch, all over their box...are you E L James?

Really nice touch from their defender to dink it over El Ghazi.

Well done Villa, professional half of football.

We are like a machine...

steady, professional first-half, though we need a second to put it to bed.

Why is AA afraid to take on their left back? Just a lack of confidence? Need the second, don't see Whelan lasting another 20 mins, would be tempted to swap Hourihane in for him at the break. Nice goal by JK l

Great nod to and pic of Sid by the way.
This. I've always loved Sid.

Let's make it a Perfect Ten!

I met Sid at a Halloween party in the Aston Social about five years ago. I bought a strip of raffle tickets and one of them was number 10 so I asked him to sign the back of my raffle ticket. My wife asked me what I would do if I won the raffle but I told her I would rather keep the signed ticket than have whatever the prize was. Which was all irrelevant anyway in the end as I didn't win anything.

I thought it was a scrappy first half but their keeper has looked solid when tested.

I presume they don't bother with many pitch side microphones for the 'Red Button' games as every one I watch sounds like it is being played in a half full stadium.

The pundit on the sky button is so obviously a Millwall fan.

I think his analysis has been pretty good...but yes, he sounds a pwopper East End laaaad

Agreed, he's been more than fair. Complementary about Villa. I can't ask for much more from a neutral.
Tony Gale is never neutral, he's just confused we're playing in claret & blue.

LOL fair point. He probably likes us as we're a respectful tribute to the Mighty West Ham or something.

Met him a few times and he is decent company and quite likes the villa.

Thought we went about that just right, always unpredictable against sides like this and so easy to slip up, playing with patience and maturity, Jack is so dangerous on the ball, Kodja right side of the defender for the goal, well taken, other lads doing their bit, expect Millwall to throw everything at us as the game goes on but we can hold them and hopefully firm this up with another.

Come on Villa.

Can I just say I’m starting to fucking love Anwar El Ghazi. So deadly now on the left

He's certainly seeing plenty of the ball.

Watching Whelan play, I'm left with the idea Dean Smith told him he needs to move the ball around quicker. To his credit, he looks like another player to the one pre-Smith and seems to be enjoying playing some proper football. He's letting the ball do the work and Millwall must be knackered chasing it.
