We seem to be playing one good half in recent games. This could be due to a number of factors. If it goes on it will cost us points.

All the evidence suggests it doesn't make a blind bit of difference!

It hasn't up to now, but it will if my gambling expererience is anything to go by.

I am hoping that we will get back into gear and render the argument moot.

Pretty sure the last time we won 8 in a row was the last 8 games in 74/75, if we can match that next game we're all but in I reckon.

I agree.

Going back to 74-75, last game of the season was against Norwich.  We also played Millwall over the Easter period.

We won 10 out of last 11 games in 74/75 losing to the mighty Leyton Orient.

Tonights performance is similar to those I've watched in the past and thought to myself "Villa would never come back with only 10 men on the field".  I'm not sure if anyone can correct me but I can't remember us ever winning a game after going behind with 10 men on the pitch.

This side/squad is something else.  It is better than the Terry, Snoddy, Johnstone team of last season and the bottle shown tonight should not be underestimated.

Away at Sunderland, goal down, Young sent off and come back to win 2-1. About 10 years ago.

Can't think of any others.

Potato Head used to use it as an excuse if the opposition had a man sent off.

Hi Mark, I'm pretty sure that our all time record is 8 league wins in a row.

2 wins and 2 draws would almost certainly be enough. I reckon the 2 wins and a draw would probably do, and would require one of the teams below Bristol to go on a good run to push us out.

Two wins should be enough, particularly if one of them is Saturday.

Looking at some of the other fixtures left makes me less nervy as well. Bristol City will either drop points, or stop the only teams who would threaten us hitting the top six.

Saturday 13 April
Middlesbrough v Hull City

Friday 19th April
Small Heath v Derby County
West Bromwich Albion v Hull City

Monday 22nd April
Hull City v Sheffield United
Nottingham Forest v Middlesbrough
Sheffield Wednesday v Bristol City

Saturday 27th April
Bristol City v Derby County

Tuesday 30th April
Millwall v Bristol City

Sunday 5th May
Derby County v West Bromwich Albion
Hull City v Bristol City

With all those playing each other I think 2 wins will do it. I've got Bolton down as 1, possibly Millwall but a win Saturday would mean we could beat Bolton and breath.
