Personally I'd be more concerned playing Sheff U given how those games have gone this season. If we keep up our current form though everyone will be fearing us.

Hang on we're only 7 points off the Baggies and I don't fancy their next 2 games. #Believe.

Preaching to the choir here, mate. I'm backing us to take care of our own business, so I'll be hoping The Robins do them on Tuesday. And do them by a few, too. Reel that GD in a bit.

In terms of whether we will make the playoffs in the first place, I'm feeling very confident at the moment. Think we will drop points before the end of the season just from law of averages as much as anything. Don't think a couple of draws will do us too much harm as no chance Derby or Bristol City are winning out.

For me, it is in our own hands so we really don't need to worry about other results.  That said, as football fans, we all do.  Logically, we do what we need to do and the other results don't matter.  We only need concern ourselves with other results if we don't win our own games (minimum 3, preferably 4).

The Bristol game worries me.  We are on a fantastic run but all fantastic runs come to an end.  Sitting here today, a point wouldn't be the end of the world because it cancels out another chance for them to overtake us.

Regarding the play offs, we are going to be facing 2 very good sides, regardless.  I suspect we'll meet WBA over 2 legs and that if we can beat them, we'll face one of Bristol, Leeds or Sheff U in the final.  Out of the 3, I would prefer to avoid Sheff U - For some reason, we seem to struggle against them.  I'm hoping that Leeds are beginning to run out of steam.  They had a grueling pre-season and have played through with a relatively small squad.  I also think that Bristol are capable of beating either Leeds or Sheff U over 2 legs and getting to Wembley - Another reason why I'd settle for a draw next week and a victory in the play off final.

Anyway, I've allowed myself a little dream - Now back to reality and the boring principle of 1 game at a time.

I know I am getting ahead of myself but I would rather Leeds go up automatically as they are the team I would be most concerned about in the play offs.
Yes for me as well. I allowed myself to indulge in playoff possibilities last night and thought we need to avoid Leeds. However just imagine how much of a let down it will be for them to be involved in playoffs after dominating the League all season?

100% that. I would love to play Leeds because A. It would mean they have already run out of juice, B. They would be massively demotivated as mentioned and C. I hate them and would love to hand them their arses on our way up.

Why worry about Leeds? Even the noses have done the double over them!! ;)

If the Stripes hadn't beat Small Heath I'd fancy our chances of overtaking them but seven points in six game is a lot of work to do. Before yesterday I said that five wins from seven should get us into the play-offs; now it's four from six. If we don't beat Rotherham, Millwall and Bolton we don't deserve to go up and yesterday's results mean that Bristol City is a don't-lose rather than a must-win. Which leaves Leeds, who as we've seen are definitely beatable and on the last day Norwich, who should have the title sewn up by then. For the first time this season it's in our own hands now.

Brizzol must be pissed off. To go and win at Sheff U and Boro only to draw at home to Wigan is a real pisser.

Oh well.

Would still fancy them to get 6th ahead of Derby so overall 7 points in the week is very good return for them.

If we make the play offs, and it’s looking more likely, is the opposition better this year than last? Even more importantly, are we better than last year. Personally, I think the answer is yes to both questions and that makes life even more exciting. DFU Villa!

Generally the teams are weaker than last year imo. There is certainly no Wolves level team in this league.

I'd fancy us over two legs v WBA which is looking most likely outcome, they haven't been as good since Harvey Barnes went back and looks like they're going to keep the rookie manager in charge for play offs.

Have to say potentially playing leeds in a final is a bit of a red flag to me similar to Fulham last year. Hopefully they'd be so disraught at missing out on top 2 they won't be able to get up for the play offs but I'd be wary as their pressing style caused us so many problems at VP even when we were 2 up.

No Grealish of course that day though. I think even if the result dosen't matter it's vital we put in a good performance at Elland Road just to lay down a marker for potential meeting in play off. They'll be nervous anyway as they'll probably have to win to keep up with Sheffield United.

we have't covered ourselves in glory against Leeds WBA or SU this season, really, so potentially all tough matches. Let's get the opportunity first and worry about the opposition then. UTV.

Yes Sheffield's high press and 3-5-2 has also really troubled us. I reckon though if Sheffield United are the ones to finish 3rd then a Bristol City finishing 6th could take them out as Bristol have actually beaten them home and away this season.

In the play offs it's all about match ups I think. I was not worried about Boro at all last season as we simply have their number and that continued this year, in fact they would be my dream play off finalists and guess it can still happen.

In the bigger picture, we should want them to win on Tuesday v Brizzle

For me the play offs will be contested between Villa, Albion, Leeds or Sheffield United and Bristol or Derby. I think we would have the beating of Bristol and Derby. Albion, Leeds and Sheffield United would all be tough games. I am just happy we are in the play off positions and have hit form at the ideal time. I am not going to concern myself too much with who we might face and just wait to see how it all falls into place. I am more concerned with us just keeping our current form going.

We nearly went up last year through the playoffs via a play not to lose attitude. We’ll go up this year because we will always play to win, have goals everywhere in the squad, a defence that has improved and unmatched depth in the squad as clearly demonstrated yesterday with the impact made by our two subs. We will not to fear anyone at all.
