Did Tammy do his hammy?

No - not hamstring twang - Deano said calf cramp but they'll scan in case it's a strain. Break has come at the right time to give him best chance for recovery.

Consummate performance today right through the team. We're starting to look like the real deal

Horrendous traffic afterwards - took me nearly an hour to get from St Edwards to the Expressway, but didn't give a shit. Good times

I haven't seen a replay but it seemed to me like the referee deserved some credit for playing the advantage for our second.

McGinn must have some epic peripheral vision to spot El Ghazi's run for our first. I was in the upper trinity and didn't see the pass was on!

Boro were pish. Whelan was class, his positioning all game was spot on.

I've only seen the brief Sky highlights package but from that I would definitely agree with you.

I didn't want it to end. Fantastic entertainment from the first minute to the last.

Whelan and McGinn, wow, just wow. Masterclass performances from both.

Mings scares me, in that if he's deemed not good enough for the division above, who the hell would we have to buy when we do go up? Awesomer every time he sets foot on the pitch.

I'll need to watch it back, but didn't our second goal start with Elmo out-skilling their bloke by the touchline? The belief runs through the whole team.

Absolutely - I said at the time it was good refereeing, and he made it very clear afterwards that he'd played the advantage (arms stretched out thingy). Unusual to give a ref credit at this level!

Well once again it was good to walk away from Villa Park having seen an outstanding performance where almost every player excelled. We should have had 5 or 6 against this very dour Boro team. Felt sorry for their fans travelling all this way and watching shite but hopefully they enjoyed our football. Whelan was superb today and shone brightest in a field full  of emeralds. What a pity that we had those horrible two months.

Spank Lampard.
Beat the Blues in which an inbred tried and failed to take out our Jack, who then went and scored the winner, and where Crazy Craig Gardner missed two absolute sitters toward the end.
Spank O'Neill and Keane.
Spank Tiny Penis.

Perfuckingfection.

I pointed this out to my seat neighbour. It was brilliant football all started with Elmo right back in Holte End/Witton corner.

The entire team were superb. Glenn MOTM closely followed by SJM and Mings.

Pulis = Bruce, and thank the Lord we don't have to watch that every week.

What a difference a few weeks make! Excellent performance and great result. Once again, you can’t fault a single player.

Smith replaced the forward line and was good to see Davis get some game time. Tammy looks frustrated and needs a goal...hope the injury isn’t serious and the international break should do him good to rest. Green getting more game time is a good thing even if not convincing yet, and would have liked Kodjia to show a bit more given the chance when Tammy came off.

Special mention for Whelan...he was excellent today, as was Mings and Hause. The whole team look full of confidence and work for each other. Good stuff!

4 wins on the bounce, 12pts in the bag and the whole team playing with confidence as we move into 6th place...onwards and upwards as the promotion juggernaut marches on, on, on!

An excellent performance!

Positives

Generally, compared with Sheffield Wednesday who are beating lower and mid-table, but looking severely limited against better sides. While Preston, who are very spawny, we are absolutely dominating our rivals.

Hause and Mings. They're both so big, good in the air, quick and comfortable on the ball. They ooze calmness and we look defensively miles better.

Whelan. Good decision to bring him in today, my man of the match. Competed well and passed it well, so credit where it's due.

El Ghazi looks so much of a threat with Grealish. He gets the full back or wing back one on one and our quick transition wide suits him.

Jack and McGinn. Superb.

We dominated and bar one lapse of concentration in the 66th minute with Assombalonga's free header, we didn't give them a sniff.

So quick to press and so quick to move the game on. They were very deep at 541 and 442, but we kept our patience and plugged away. Not in an empty headed battering ram way, but with precision and movement.

Well deserved and controlled victory.

Negatives

Green showed the inconsistency of youth. Very good on Wednesday and patchy today.

A little profligate with the ball for 10 minutes when Fletcher came on.

But I'm really scraping the barrel to find imperfections.
