Lovely play from Lolley for their goal.  I'd love to see him, Jack and SJM in the same side.

After their rather lucky goal, again, I honestly can't remember Steer having a proper save to make.  We had a couple of hairy moments but I thought we defended well enough overall and I like the attitude of taking a booking if they really need to.  Tammy was poor tonight but as soon as he went off, you can see what he brings to the game in keeping the ball up front instead of us hammering it into space for Kodjia to chase.  Jack and SJM are a class apart. Hourihane played well and has hopefully returned to being really useful instead of a hologram.  Mings and Hause are ace.  Good win Villa.  Good subs too.

Super result, fully deserved.

Thought the third goal was justice for a fucking awful tackle on Jack.

I believe this season is getting exciting again!!

That tackle was a disgrace, it was liked he slowed up so he could kick Grealish.

Cracking delivery from Hourihane, in off the rod it seemed from Hause

we only looked like adding to our lead after that

I wasn't impressed by Kodjia when he came on. He needed to run his socks off, not amble around. Either he's a busted flush or he doesn't care.

Smith out, Hause is rubbish, no chance of the play-offs  - where are the people who said this only recently ??

Beat Boro and we have beat goal difference outside top 4. Opens up 2nd available play off place for us and other chasers as the pack thins out.

Whete would we be if jack, mings and steer had played all season.
Steer should not let 1st goal in. He also has a habit of dropping ball from shots and catching at 2nd attempt. I think Kalinic should be back in goal.

O'Neil very magnanimous in defeat. 3 comments from his interview.
Very good Villa side
Villa a re a strong side
But Villa are very good so you have to wonder why they are there in the first place

Disagree. I thought the goal was unlucky as it’s totally not meant, and steers communication appears better than any of the other options. For me, he stays in.

The sort of game the old Villa would have definitely lost. A mouth ex-manager, a fired up Forest team, 'After The Lord Mayor's Show' syndrome: Chuffed to bits and proud of them tonight. Great result at a very difficult place.

Well bloody done Villa!
