• What happened to James Chester? He was potentially in contention to play versus Sheffield Utd and has not been in a matchday squad or mentioned in injury updates since.

  I think Mings is great (performance and attitude), Hause looks promising and will get better, but Tommy Elphick still worries me. He is shot for pace, seems to lose concentration/positional sense, and makes several mistakes a game in my view. UTV.

  My first match was amazing because it was under floodlights. I'd never seen anything like that luminous green pitch. Sadly, my dad would didn't follow any team so as Villa were in the third division, it was at St Andrews which means I also remember a load of fighting and blokes covered in blood.

• There could be a big concertina affect on the table the way the fixtures have lined up tomorrow:
  
  Preston vs Bristol
  Villa vs Derby
  Hull vs Blose
  Stoke vs Forest
  
  If there are home wins in all those games then the chase for that 6th spot is still on!
  
  Also Sheff Weds vs Sheff Utd will either mean the chasing pack is even tighter...or we’ll go above them and Baggies chase for automatic place will be all but over given the form of the top 3 clubs.
