Seen El Ghazi's goal again against these Stripey twats and Jack takes two of the Tesco gimps out of position creating space. Crikey we miss him.

I wonder whether 3-4-3 might be worth trying.

           Hutton - Mings - Elphick
   Elmo - McGinn - Whelan - Hourihane
           El-Ghazi - Tammy - Kodjia

They have a few facing fitness tests. And Gayle is definitely out.  You never know. My last fifteen visits to Villa Park we've only lost once so hopefully that's a good omen but out of those fifteen games this is the most negative I've felt before a match.

1-3 to the Stripey Filth
Rumblings of discontent towards Smith and he and the team roundly booed by the few fans who stay until the final whistle
The club gave up on promotion weeks ago and almost admitted they had done so with their comments about " not needing to go up this season"

It's worse than that.

The guys at the top actually told everybody they were not "requiring or expecting" promotion.

Bring on the abuse. But that's the facts.

What an utter bore you are.

Dry your eyes mate.

It was said, by the top brass, in mid December.

And quoted, out of context, by you ever since.

Explain how "We're not EXPECTING or REQUIRING to be promoted QUICKLY." can be quoted "out of context"?

That's the exact quote. The fact they're referring to finances is neither here nor there. They are still saying they are not EXPECTING us to be promoted QUICKLY. Think about the message that sends to everybody.

They are basically saying, "With this manager and players, we are not expecting anything like success." And guess what? Their expectations are being met.

Who'd of thought it?

Purslow also said this in the same interview "“It’s my duty to do everything to get the club back to the upper reaches of the Premier League". And in the same interview he also says this about the owners "They’re profoundly ambitious to get Aston Villa to its natural level".

Just because he gave a sensible answer to a question about the financial state of the club doesn't mean they have no expectations. Well not to anyone with any common sense.

Perhaps if who this statement was said to, and when, and in response to what, then perhaps it might be debated at a higher level than as troll fodder.

BUT RON SAUNDERS LITERALLY SAID "BET AGAINST US". WE WON IT DESPITE HIS NEGATIVITY (and then he went to Blues, the absolute shit).

Even so, they've told everybody they're not expecting it quickly.

No he did not. He stated that it was not a prerequisite of our financial survival which it was last season, and that was the context of the question which he was answering.

In the context of finances. I.e. we're not going bump again if we don't go up this summer like we were last year.

You're either too stupid to comprehend it or a tedious troll. Or probably both.

What they should have done to please you is say we have to go up this season, we expect to go up this season, we will go up this season and then gone on about how we'll be one the top clubs in Europe within a few years because no one has ever looked stupid after saying any of those things having just taken over a club.

Whereas I, and I assume most on here, prefer having ambitious owners that are smart enough to not have the club unable to pay its bills if it doesn't happen.

Good idea in principle however Hutton gets caught out of position so often that we’d spend much of the match with only 2 defenders.
