Went to the SYB for the opening game away @ Hull and it was like a continuation of the World Cup. But with Villa shirts.  Type of venue it is lends itself to summer/ autumn kick offs.  Preston 3-3 was packed as well.

I've watched quite a few games at the Six Yard Box over the last couple of years and I'd recommend it. I don't really know anyone in the London Lions (probably because my interactions stretch as far as turning to someone nearby and saying "what was [insert player] doing there?") but the atmosphere is always decent anyway

As a member of the East London Lions, it's well worth your while making Kingthing's acquaintance over in West London. If you're on facebook, make yourself known and he'll add you.

Facebook group link

It'll give you priority access to away tickets, and the chance to travel to games home and away with fellow fans. We don't care how much or little you drink, which way you vote, or anything else. As long as you support the Villa, you're good enough for us.

And yes, there's a designated bar for games – where Villa fans with a London Lions membership get a discount on beer. Usually that's the Six Yard Box in E&C, but it's closed at the moment, so Bar Kick in Shoreditch will have a bunch of Villans on Friday.

I remember the London Lions of the 90s with great fondness (well, apart from the minibus back from Prenton Park in 94). When i was travelling with them it was Tim running it i think. Days Donna and co and Alan Robinson sorting out the tickets.

I was a member around 1985-88 before buggering off to Paris for 10 years and Tim was running it then. He and Sue Wells got married at some point. I last saw Sue at the German bier keller at Old St tube in 2007 when somebody organised a 25th anniversary full showing of the 1982 EC final.
