Not being the worst doesn't mean being good enough.

Good guy, been a good servant to the club. But pre-game it was clear he should not start and so it proved.

It’s just more evidence of Unai’s muddled thinking right now - he wants a game of control, but he doesn’t pick the one defender who can support that. I don’t think it would work anyway, but it definitely doesn’t without Torres.

Was a bizarre call to bring him back in tonight. Pedro isn't that kind of physical striker that Mings could get stuck into. I think number of us said it pre game but selecting Mings just screamed we need leadership in there somehow and to hell with the tactical consequences.

He needs to move on in the summer - but who is going to buy an ageing centre half and pay him the salary that we are - he is just not good enough for a club who have champions league aspirations

Anyone can seem like a great guy in an interview.

Awful. Absolutely awful player. Never a top half Premier League player.

I think 'awful' is a bit harsh, but I agree he's not Champions League level.

Didn't think Konsa was any better tonight. Played Pedro onside and then ball-watched as the striker outran him for the equaliser. Was rank for one of the other goals too.

Thought it was his worst game for a while. Left Mings to do all the hard running on Pedro and got turned several times.

I'm at the stage now where I think Europa will be a welcome reprieve to gut the team and make a bunch of changes, Konsa included. He's clearly pissed off and needs a break from it all.

Has there been any communication on Pau?  Seems odd that he's gone from teachers pet to the bench?

Evidence of Unai’s muddled thinking. If you want to play out of the back you have to play Pau. It’s not all about him clearly, but pretty much all our best football under Unai is when Pau plays. Ty doesn’t have the range of passing, and crucial is a second too slow when he does pass. You could see it yesterday, and it enabled Chelsea to press us into mistakes repeatedly.

Doesn’t mean all problems are solved if Pau plays - issues are wider than just that, but trying to play out of the back without the key player that enables that style is just daft.

We play our best football with Pau as he is the only one who can pass it out from the back.

Torres has been poor in recent games. He was desperate at Wolves as was Konsa. But he does hold the defensive line a lot better than Mings. If we were going to go kamikaze last night then it was a very odd night to pick Mings.

With the run of fixtures, it's been a while since we faced a top forward. DCL bullied Konsa but Pedro was a whole other level. Destroyed our centre backs with his movement
