He was excellent tonight.
To think some have suggested he is past it.

I was one of them! A colossus tonight

Magnificent. And this with his fucked up knee bent like that. A giant of a player for us
As brilliant as that was he was a gnats knacker away from giving a penalty. That would have been cruel as it's the same goalmouth where he famously picked the ball up. I agree he's been a giant of a player for us.

Superb tonight. That clearance at 1-1 was game changing.
We had our best CB's back tonight , and it showed.

Yeah. I love Tyrone, he's brilliant, but anyone who has played football knows that was desperate luck.

Not that it wasn't vital, not that he didn't mean to clear it, not that he didn't risk a serious hamstring injury, but he's made far more elegant clearances for us.

Don't want to talk this down, but there are many better examples of his defending than this one.

Great to see him back and getting back to his best .
The defence has been shite without him for too long.

Also love how balanced and reserved he was in the post-match interview. Taking nothing for granted, like the consummate pro he is.

The one against Burnley (1-1 draw at home) comes to mind.

Why was it luck?

He was in the right place at the right time. And did what he needed to do.

His stats were seriously impressive last night , from tackles to aerial duals to distribution. MOTM.

He had the courage to go for it. Most centre backs wouldn't. It won't win prizes for artistic merit but it saved us a goal.

He was in the right place at the right time. And did what he needed to do.

It was clearly intentional and executed at a stretch that could have had him on the treatment table given his recent injury record and lack of game time. Luck is the one thing it wasn't but I suppose you could say it was lucky that we didn't concede a corner and maybe fortunate the minimal contact he made with the ball didn't result in it hitting his fingers. A heavier touch may have been enough for that.
