Assuming Ty can get himself up to speed. Do we think he’d be a good pairing with Pau. He has the strength, positioning and defensive abilities to compliment Pau’s distribution. But as both of them naturally play at LCB will it be a good option.

I also want to see Konsa continue to kick on and build on his great development with opportunities at RCB with another option coming in at RB.

No-one worries about two rightfooters playing together, I think we'll be fine with two lefties.

It's a great problem to have. You have to assume that Konsa will now expect to be ahead of Tyrone in the pecking order, given his international recognition, so will want to ensure he's getting plenty of starts to ensure he doesn't lose his place in the England squad.

Tyrone was also getting selected before the injury. Never seemed to be fully comfortable though.

I was thinking less about their left footedness but their experience and ability in the left position of the two centre backs. I haven’t really seen much of either of them on the right side of centre back.

I think their aptitudes would compliment each other though.

Fair, I agree, I think their skill sets go well together.

Assuming we still do the Konsa on-the-right-shuffling-in thing, with the leftback going on, I suspect Pau will take the righthand brief so that a) he can step out into midfield, and b) Tyrone can use his physical gifts to cover the space behind the leftback as Konsa is does on the right, to head off counterattacks.

When we played Pau and Lenglet together, it was Lenglet that moved to the right.

I am (was?) a left-sided centre half who had to play on the right for a season to accomodate a left-footed clogger. Different levels, but took two or three games of drifting too far left out of habit before becoming second nature.

If I can do it in the Oakbourne, then have no doubt Tyrone Mings or Pau Torres can.

We formed a good partnership to be fair.

Last summer he had the coolest button down top money could buy and ended up giving it away to a Ipswich fan for a Villa COWS shirt. He's obviously hoping he meets the same Villa fan his year.
