I'm glad Tyrone can have a longer rest ready for next season.

Tyrone Mings is the perfect role model every parent should want their children to grow up to be, Gareth Southgate far from it, the two-faced arsehole.

He was also called out on MOTD by the pundit police for his touch leading to Citeh's 3rd goal, they all really highlighted it really giving him stick, you wonder if St. Gareth gets influenced by such things.

Luiz bottled dealing with it, very much more at fault there rather than Mings I thought.

I agree about Maguire but I also agree Mings isn’t good enough for England either.  Good for him to get a full rest this summer anyway.

Mings will be stronger with a midfield that provides some protection. He’d also benefit from playing alongside a ball playing centre back.

Villa have also faired much better with Mings than without him since he’s been here, I can’t say the same about any other of our centre halves in the last few years. He’s been one of our best players this season.

Mine too. Looking back to the start of this thread, what a thoroughly positive influence he’s been on the club.

Southgate was a hypocrite as a player and now as a manager. His past managerial experience in getting the England job in the first place was highly questionable, other than being good with the media (allegedly) and FA Blazers.

His game management in the big moments is poor. Just as sat on his hands and did nothing when things were clearly going wrong against Croatia and then Italy, he’ll continue to do it again and again and cost England a legitimate opportunity of winning a major tournament.

Southgate is a mealy mouthed cretin with zero idea about how to manage a team. He has had 2 free hits at tournaments where the draws could genuinely not have been hand picked to be kinder, and still not won one. His insistence that Maguire, Stones et al will always be in the squad proves his utter hypocrisy, while his lack of imagination with forward players leaves us so boring to watch he makes McLeish look attacking.

Definitely. 2018 in particular. He’s very a spreadsheet manger. His comments about learning from Portugal winning Euro 2016 speaks volumes. I think a lot of England fans will look back and think what might have been I fear.
