Very unlucky not to score. Very powerful header and keeper probably wouldn't haven't saved it another 5 times.

No silly mistakes, but he lost his man easily for their best two chances, the Rondon and Gray efforts.

The Rondon one, I have absolutely no idea who was supposed to be marking him, he ran post Konsa, and got ahead of Axel before a very good recovery. I think that was the system as much as individual errors.

It was the ball in from Godfrey in the first place that Mings failed to cut out. It was similar to the ball in for Chelsea's 3rd that week, played through his legs.

The Gray effort second half? What man did he lose?

Andros Townsend.

Agreed, we had a few moments where the defence looked like players used to playing in a 4 not quite knowing where they should be, I wouldn't put them down as individual errors.

So are you saying he "lost" the man who was running at him? I saw it as he had Tzunebe inside of him and could also see someone making a run on the outside he moved that way instead with Axel to intercept instead. But Townsend checked back and played it across the pitch anyway.

Might be worth watching those chances again. He didn’t lose his man for either effort, he stood off both a little but certainly didn’t lose position or get particularly done.

So not lost his man but didn't block the cross. If you had said could have defended better for both, maybe. But lost "his man" is more leaving the person he is supposed to mark at a corner to a free header.

Blaming him for that particular chance is really harsh given it was moments after we'd replaced a defensive full back with winger on his outside and I don't think anyone was completely clear what formation we were playing for a little while there.

Had a good game today.  Looking better at attacking corners, at last!
