Whilst I think Konsa is the better player, Mings is absolutely the right choice for captain this season.

Leader of men, on and off the pitch.

Probably the easiest decision Smith will have to make this summer.

Yep. While having Grealish as captain was good PR in one sense, Tyrone would be good PR in an altogether more important and profound way.

Tyrone is a leader, a grown up, a "senior professional" and has strong clear values.
Perfect captain material.

I can see why people think he would be a good choice, but I think I'd rather let him concentrate on his defensive duties rather than having the extra responsibility of being captain. I'd possibly give it McGinn.

I think SJM will certainly be part of any “leadership group” but it’s Tyrone for me too.

I think it'll go the other way and bring the best out of him. Extra responsibility = increased focus.

I tend to agree with Clampy too.

Yes, Mings is a leader on and off the pitch but still capable of moments of madness during a game that could end up being costly. I would go with McGinn too.

The only extra responsibility is calling heads/tails. He's been the leader on the pitch for the last 2 1/2 years regardless of who was wearing the armband.
