The reaction of Warsi and Mercer is very telling. This is not about right or left, it's about right and wrong and a sense of common decency that has evaporated in the last few years.

Players come and players go but Mings, to me anyway, feels like he's always been part of the club's fabric.

Well said Joe. This and Jack conducting himself so well (acknowledging his past mistakes yes), ambassadors where it counts.

Agreed. I'd love to think a tide is turning.

Anyway, brilliant from Mings - he's one of us.

Good on you Tyrone, so glad that he can use his platform and get the support that warrants.

I'd love to think that was the case but the cynic in me still believes that come election day we'll just see the same result. That enough people are stupid, deluded or downright nasty enough to continue to vote for this awful administration, lead by such a terrible excuse for a human being.
The fact that we are here now, seeing our club captain challenging the Home Secratary on issues of race only confirms the worst fears of those who were so concerned about power being given to such ignorant and pernicious people.

Headline news on the BBC 1 o'clock news today, Tyrone sure has hit a target.

The actual wording of his tweet is so good - not a word wasted, or out of place, the message is crisp, clear, direct and wholly unambiguous.

And a predictably pathetic non-response from Patel, who doesn't think he, or anyone who agrees with him, is worthy of a retort.

Hear hear. Tyrone calling out Patel is just so good. I wonder how they’ll wriggle out of this one?

Patel has been subjected to racial abuse herself, so what she says is fine - apparently.
I suspect that the vast majority of any online abuse Patel gets is not racist, it's because she's a ******

Not that I condone online abuse of anyone, obviously.

Plans for a Downing St reception for the team have apparently been "shelved".

Hopefully they told the lying racist where to go.

Eni Aluko replied to Tyrone and lots of people pointed out that she is a supporter of this government. She has since deleted her account. Wonder if there will be an article soon.

It was such a clanger for Patel to come out with, even if she does believe it. Her "handlers"/Party must have been cursing her.

Then again, the interview was on that new Fox-Britain news channel, wasn't it? Clearly felt in good company to let her guard down...
