It was asking for trouble that change, gave Mings a horrible job to get to speed last 15

A couple of minutes earlier Stones was wincing having made a tackle, so I did wonder if it was precautionary? There was no mention of it after the game, so who know...

Funny how the media have been giving Maguire pelters all season - he then gets injured and suddenly he's the new Franz Anton Beckenbauer

Then again, every single match thread on here for the last two seasons has had posts banging on about Mings's inevitable mistake or his latest fuck-up and three whole months of this thread is about how he's not good enough for where we want to be and we need an upgrade to play with Konsa.

Now it's a massive injustice that he's not England's first-choice defender.

It's not just the media that can do a 180 turn.
Very true.

Anyone notice just how pissed off Mings looked after the game, had a face like thunder. Great to see that attitude.

I'm disappointed for Tyrone that he didn't get to play in the knockout rounds.

Maguire was one of England's best players, in fairness and Stones did little wrong.

I still think Maguire and Mings would be a better balanced partnership.

I reckon Mings would thunderblast in a penalty, as well.

[itk]

He took one in our works match in 2012. Sidefoot, lifted into the roof of the net, central.

He looked decidedly unimpressed when the silver medal got dangled round his neck, it was off again in about half a second.

Good don't want our players accepting 2nd as being good enough

The runners-up removing their medals as soon as possible is something I only noticed as an en-masse thing after Yanited list the Europa final in May and to be honest, while understandable, is also pretty disrespectful.
A runners-up Euro medal is the most many of those players, Mings included, will ever win. And they've worked hard to get there. Just suck it up, keep it shiny and go again.

Maguire was one of England's best players, in fairness and Stones did little wrong.

I thought Stones was lucky Itaky equalised, or he would have been sent off. Lost Chiellini from the cross and then fouled him, but as Italy scored, VAR didn't both looking at it.

Mings was better than Stones against Scotland.
