Very, very unfortunate to get left out.

He won’t drop slabhead now unless he has an absolute howler.

I reckon that's it for Tyrone unless one of those two get an injury. Been the best defender so far, adds balance to the back four as well as leadership and he gets dropped. It's ludicrous.

Definitely our best defender so far and was so obvious he would be dropped.
Hope Jack has the game of his life, as for Sterling…..wow, just wow!!

Southgate has his favourites.  Maguire and Stones are an accident waiting to happen, Walker and Shaw too.  Proud of you Tyrone.

Funny how the media have been giving Maguire pelters all season - he then gets injured and suddenly he's the new Franz Anton Beckenbauer

I'm not Mings' biggest fan - but centre back is clearly England weakest position if Stones and Slab-head are our best options.

I like the fact that Tyrone is rested tonight before the last 16 game at the weekend.

Just seen the line-up. Very hard on Tyrone: he's been terrific. At least Jack's getting a proper chance now!

Then again, every single match thread on here for the last two seasons has had posts banging on about Mings's inevitable mistake or his latest fuck-up and three whole months of this thread is about how he's not good enough for where we want to be and we need an upgrade to play with Konsa.

Now it's a massive injustice that he's not England's first-choice defender.

It's not just the media that can do a 180 turn.

Tyrone has been superb and has been our England's best defender by a mile.

I don't have a problem, with him picking Maguire, he needs the game time, but I would have a massive problem with him, if he doesn't pick Tyrone for the next match.

Maguire is good at running the ball out from defence.
Southgate won’t like that.

I'm not Mings' biggest fan - but centre back is clearly England weakest position if Stones and Slab-head are our best options.
Sounds like back in the day when we had Carlos Cuéllar ready in the sidelines.

and when Richard Dunne was injured for that season - he got better every week.

Normally would like to see a Villa player coming on for England but to change a centre back with about 15 minutes to go,unless there is an injury ,is madness.
