He is top notch until he has a lapse of concentration - up  there with the likes of Melberg/Evans/McNaught, still some way to God.

Yep, I'd say Mellberg in particular is a good comparison. Minbgs won't get to the level of McGrath but Konsa could, he's already excellent and is still 5-6 years away from his prime.

He’s really got to up his game. He was at fault for the first goal and he switched off to give Pogba a chance he should have scored. We need better than that from Tyrone.

Mings is on The High Performance Podcast, well worth a watch.

That’s a good podcast series. I thought the Jonny Wilkinson one would be great but he was far too deep And complex for me

I am beginning to suspect we need better than Tyrone.

I think he has credit in the bank and was unlucky last night, the cross wrong foots him totally, but he will know that as hes the type to beat himself up for it afterwards. I think long term, it might be a bit of the case Leicester had with Maguire, there is a value that some clubs may pay the sort of money that we would be happy with, allow us to sign a couple of replacements, and allow him to go at the right time.

It was a shit decision to drop Hause. Mings has always got a match-changing error in him, and so it proved yet again.  I didn't see much of his supposed Baresi-esque distribution either that makes him so much better than Hause.

Who was tracking the runner who got a free header? The ball may have got past Mings but nobody else (Konsa) challenged the header.

It was the swing of a light modern football that beat Mings last night not bad positioning

Yes,  to claim this was a Mings clanger is stretching it a bit. El Ghazi also stopped running back.

Done better? Sure.
Also that Hause has played 2 games well,  and suddenly he is flawless.  He has a history of trying to dribble with the ball, but ending upp in trouble. Different things with different players

Agree that dropping Hause was wrong but I don't think Ming's did too much wrong for their goal. He was unlucky his header bounced straight off Martial and in.

Yeah, I don’t think the goal can be purely put down to Mings. He got to cut the near post out otherwise there is potentially a tap in for the striker. It’s as much on Konsa, who is in a much better position to actually see Martial, as it is Mings in my opinion.

Also, again just my opinion, but Mings gets back in because he is a better defender than Hause. And has better leader and organisional qualities. Hause has been good, and can certainly feel a tad unfortunate,  but it’s not like our defence has been poor in it with Mings this season.

If he heads the ball away from goal, they don’t score.

Except he did, and they did.

He just didn't get enough on it.
