Without him in the side we've played Sheff Utd, Southampton, Norwich and Watford. The fact our average-goals-against has gone UP against those team speaks volumes.Even given his propensity to make the odd howler, we're still a better defensive unit with him in the side.

The biggest miss is his leadership I think.I’d be quite tempted to try a formation with 3 centre backs giving him a bit of licence to drive forward.
