The El Ghazi haters have switched to Tyrone now. I can remember the negative comments about Douglas Luiz 12 months ago; saying he'll never be good enough. Same goes for Hause, Targett etc.,

He believes his own hype.  Good defender but no Paul McGrath.

In the first couple of minutes got beat for pace, he looks great for 90% of the time but is head strong and lacks the common sense when simply to whallop  the ball.

Not sure it was the pace that did for him he just looked completely flat footed.
He definitely tries one touch too many far too often for my liking, Row Z is where it’s at Tyrone.

I think he definitely caught Zaha when he got booked initially and I thought it was a bit naughty tbh. I thought Zaha got into his head after that. He’s a moaning bugger always appealing to the refs. Should have dealt better with the header but after that he was always onto a loser with Zaha’s pace.

Agree it was quite nasty and sneaky

Well he’s been the main stay of our back four for a while, was massive in getting us promoted and helped keep 8 clean sheets this season.

Silly boy today and he’ll no doubt be kicking himself for it.

He has a great 2 years- Bournemouth fringe player to England squad regular - he needs to cut out the occasional lapses.

Not sure there’s any hate going on, people are pointing out a few frustrations and minor faults that are preventing him being truly world class. He switches off in games now and again, he takes one touch too many on occasion and got done up like a kipper by Zaha today.

Definitely not a red today but his overall defending wasn't the best. A match off and time to think and sharpen his concentration.

It was two yellow cards and I think both were bookings. He had a poor game. It happens sometimes with Mings. Overall he has cut out some of the mistakes of before, and yes he is and has been very good for us, today was not one of his better days.

Am I right in thinking there was a similar incident in the game in July when Mings and Zaha both got booked?

I was thinking this too, I seem to remember some squaring up after an incident last season.

Fair play to him for holding his hands up to the incident.

Tyrone has been largely fantastic and is a cult figure at the club.  But it won't do him any harm to sit out a few games, especially if Konsa and Hause continue to play as well as they are.  Competition will keep Tyrone grounded. There was a little nudge by Zaha before Tyrone blocked him, referee didn't see that bit.

He does try and play too much at times and gets caught out as well as lapses in concentration.

I thought the first yellow was harsh and haven't seen the second one close up. Ironic that Southgate (rightly) got slated about being negative towards Jack but he is more positive than many Villa fans about Tyrone.

He's not so bad as he is a key figure in the 2nd  best defence in the league. But he has huge lapses of concentration and when he's bad, oh crikey, he's bad.

But he's huge, quick, good on the ball and a strong competitor and organiser. Sitting in the stands might do him good for a game. Forced freshen up.

Bamford got into his head and now Zaha got him rattled.
You've hit it on the head - anyone who goes down like a bag of spuds is a problem for Tyrone.  He would have been great in the 70's or 80's on heavier pitches when pace was not as big a problem as it is now
Agreed. This seems to be what he struggles with.

Felt like there was some previous between him and Zaha simmering today.
