Mings just isn't as good as Mings thinks he is.
Try getting back to basics like marking players, defending and clearing the ball without all the drag backs and long pinging passes and use it as a base but at the moment he simply can't defend for toffee.

Given he is 6 foot 5, I don’t think I’ve seen a centre back in the Premier division this season worse than Tyrone at heading a ball or winning it consistently in the air.

Getting an England call up, although deserved at the time, seems to have completely gone to his head, I doubt he'll get another call up based on recent form.

He's been as bad as anyone else this season for sure. He got a lot of plaudits last season and rightly so, and he's had some great games this season. But overall he hasn't upped his game to the level required.

Him mouthing 'how how how' last night might have been him thinking others had screwed up, but if he think's he's been doing enough himself then he clearly wants to take a good hard look in the mirror.

Agree
He plays himself into trouble most of the time

I’m shouting at the telly when he starts to think he’s Franco Baresi just clear the danger at the first opportunity don’t start being clever

I can’t believe Smiths not hold him this

That's what irks me about him, he goes around looking pissed off with the others, when at the moment he's playing as badly as everybody else.

The most annoying thing about Tyrone is his attempts at using his strength to keep opposition players off the ball or getting past.
It's a bit lazy or causal at times and he gets found out.
Players are wise to it or he just thinks he can ease them off the ball.
The other thing is his time on the ball playing at his own pace. Has to be very careful with that play.

Are you suggesting he does too much fannying around?

Why does our club never build on momentum? Think back to last May, we had so much going for us .

I thought this man would be massive for us- need him to step up and rally the troops for the battle.

This.

And when we get it wrong, we go balls out and get it wrong. No half measures, were either alright or were beyond pathetic.

Him nearly getting caught on the ball seemed to set the tone.
I am not seeing nearly enough leadership from him.

Most games he seems to have a semi brain freeze. I like him a lot, but don't think he's good enough to be the no1 centre back, he would do better playing with a more experienced player next to him.

He’s a good player. It’s bloody hard when the midfield offer no protection and the full backs can’t really defend.

That's where I'm at with him, Paul.

The midfield and full back positions are really lacking. We needed a younger Jedinak in the centre of midfield for this whole season.

For me, this is a management issue. We know that Mings has a good game inside him, but that the whole team seems caught in the headlights ... the coaches should be sorting Mings out as part of rectifying all the current problems.

Agree he's regularly beaten in the air by smaller players, and was bullied by the Kosovo centre forward when playing for England.  He gets an easy time from some Villa fans because of his good performances last season,  but this is the PL and for me he hasn't stepped up.  I've been saying for ages he's full of errors, much like the rest of our players, and nowhere near as good as he or some of us like to think he is, and I was surprised at his England call up.
