This has been a really poor day of batting other than the opening partnership. Having said that I do wish her to openers could keep going instead of giving their wickets away. Any sort of decent lead here, perhaps 30 runs also could be quite useful, but doesn’t look like we’ll get that now.

Really poor decision from Root to review that, given how quick he sent it up I thought he must've got a feather edge, no idea what he thought was going to save him.
That was total arrogance. Sort of "I am world's number 1, how dare he gave me out" review.

I'd rather be in our shoes than theirs

Since the opening partnership, India have utilised the conditions the way our bowlers (Atkinson aside) failed to do yesterday. I don't necessarily blame our batsmen today.

We really should have bowled them out for under 150 yesterday.

It's close. Woakes not being able to bowl puts a massive amount of pressure on Atkinson in India's second innings.

Not sure this is the case now. Think I would rather have them batting last than a 23 lead, but we shall see.

India lead. We’re going to need Overton to be so much better.

Poor catching was one of the main reasons for England not winning at OT and today India have had 3 dropped in this innings so far.

Dawson, fielding in the deep looking directly into the sun drops a sitter and gestures that he did not pick it up. So for the next ball he puts his shades on. You really cannot have that kind of incompetence at test level, you couldn’t make it up.
