Well, this is a bit shit. It's only about the 93rd shittest thing to happen in the last twenty-four hours but, even so.

Well done, Windies.

Really don't mind losing to the Windies though, in a way. A  Caribbean cricket revival would only be good for the game.

I see Trescothick has referred to the absence of a genuine domestic 50-over competition as an influence on international performances in the same format.

who'd have thought?

perhaps we can persuade the cricketing world there should be a 100 world cup - we might win the fireworks and DJ section?

Great idea!

Perhaps we can get companies who produce fattening foodstuffs to sponsor it and help spread obesity around the world!

The IPL and Big Bash still have better fireworks.

We had the opportunity to establish one of the three biggest domestic T20 tournaments in the world. We're the 'big three', it makes sense.

But no, we listened to marketing consultants. "We can disregard the entire history and structure of the game; just get some twats from Radio 1 there."

No.

Cracker wasn't it?

The burning issue is, how long a spell(s) can he bowl for?

Another comfortable win last night, some of Buttlers hitting was brutal.

Yeah and hopefully he can build that up. If he can make it into the Test arena then he’s going to have to be managed better. He bowled ludicrously long spells when he played previously.

That's what is so frustrating about all his injuries, his technique was so natural and looked sustainable, which was why he could bowl 10-12over spells without looking fucked.

Yeah but doesn’t mean he should have been bowling those spells!

No, of course not, but I can see why captains thought it was viable.

He needs to be used like Wood -four or five-over spells only.
