Wigan v Aston Villa: Pre-Match Thread
« on: January 07, 2019, 07:37:29 PM »
Time to bounce back. Awful display against Swansea and it sounds like Smith tore them a new one.

Wigan tend to start well, huff and puff for 15 minutes and then disappear.

Apparently if we score we won't lose according to the two season ticket holders I work with.

My team;

Kalinic

Taylor
Chester
Elpick
Hutton

Hourihane

McGinn
Landsbury

El Ghazi
Kodjia
Bolasie

Was popping up to this but a friend is going to the Doctors as his guts are playing up a fair bit so he understandbly dosen't fancy 90 minutes in the cold and can't drink much either while he gets a prognosis.

Anyway this is a must win to me otherwise we really will start to fall off the top 6 pace.

Thought Wigan looked a good team start to the season but they've really fallen off the cliff in last two months. Losing to Ipswich and at home 0-3 to SHA in last six weeks says it all.

0-1.

Draw. They played well in the earlier meeting and arguably should have had at least a point. We are a mess at the minute so it will be tough game.

Wigan's run since late October:

Millwall 2-1 Wigan
Sheffield United 4-2 Wigan
Wigan 1-2 Leeds
Boro 2-0 Wigan
Wigan 0-0 Reading
Wigan 3-1 Blackburn
Bolton 1-1 Wigan
Wigan 0-1 Derby
Ipswich 1-0 Wigan
Wigan 0-3 SHA
West Brom 2-0 Wigan
Swansea 2-2 Wigan
Wigan 0-3 Sheffield United

3 goals in their last 7 games. 1 win in their last 13.

Simply have to be winning this.

last chance saloon if we are serious about the playoffs.  I think we  will win easily but with the Villa right now you never know.

Agreed. That’s our strongest team minus Jack and Axel which is a worry in itself
