Hourihane is a luxury player. Whelan would be better for us here.

I get why Hourihane gets criticized to a point, but what were we really expecting when we bought him? On paper he gets a load of goals and assists. He just isn’t the energy bunny that McGinn is for example. Could he do more? Maybe but then would it take away from the other things that he does very well. It’s hard to find midfielders that will produce what he does.

The key with a lot of players at the club is we are asking them to do more than than their defined strengths. It’s the age old comment about how unbalanced this squad is.
He was never going to cut the mustard. Bang average.

Statistically he’s not bang average in this division.

I take your point, TV, and if we get the defence sorted and a decent DMF in we may see the best of Hourihane (although in doing so, we may have to change the way we play to accommodate him, Grealish and McGinn).

How can he suddenly give a yellow card when he clearly didn’t see what happened there

Ah, the all important stats. He's bang average by the more important scale:my viewpoint.

They clearly don’t want to change keeper and you can’t just play on as if it was an outfield player. The replacement keeper for them hasn’t played all year.
