He hasn’t won me over yet, far from it, but let’s not forget the point blank save he made yesterday too

When I looked back at Swansea's first, the player got a touch on the ball to change direction.  I can understand why he let it slip although I'm not convinced that it was impossible to have held though.  Their third goal saw him charge out, become isolated and then fail to get back into position.  Not the best of starts.

At Wigan, he was not at fault for any of the goals.

Yesterday, there is a slight possibility that he could have got down quicker but he's a big lad and I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on that one.

Not yet commanding his box like a bloke his side could but it's very early days & he's made a couple of good stops as well.

Not hit the ground running like I'd hoped and like Daz, he hasn't won me over but I certainly haven't lost faith in him, like I had with Nyland.

Seeing him come for a cross in the 93rd minute, punching it 25 yards away and taking out 2 of our defenders and their attacker was fucking brilliant.

I hope he comes good but he doesn’t fill me with confidence. Hopefully I will be proved wrong.

I said something similar on the match thread.

It's what I expected from him from day 1.

This sort of thing will create confidence throughout the side and can only be a good thing.  Breed confidence and make clean sheets a regular thing.

I thought he looked quite shaky for a couple of crosses at Reading. He did however make a good save. Not completely convinced.

Any keeper is reliant on the relationship he has with the defence, especially the CH's and lets face it our have mostly been a car crash this year.

Give them time to be settled and understand each others strengths and weaknesses then I am sure we will have a very sound foundation to build from

I would imagine the hurley burly of the Championship is far removed from what he has been used to up till now

I agree, I think this holds true for Nyland as well. It doesn't matter how good a goalkeeper is, put them behind a poor defence and they'll look hesitant and leak goals. Johnstone has struggled all season but most on here thought he was an excellent keeper (for this level).

Left out of squad today ?
What's going on here ?
Maybe a rest after international break.
I say bring him back Steer has a go but by all accounts not convincing and isn't in same class.
No one pays 7 million for a keeper in championship and international Croatian and have him on bench .
Think it's ridiculous and I won't come here till Norwich and may I off from here or maybe only when  Lovre comes back in ! Just to give thoughts !
I hope others get to see sense in that steer shouldn't be keeper!

Good night ! Up the villa cya

Who is number 4 keeper, Sarkic?

Edit: Was speaking to a Croatian fan on another forum and he said Kalinic was really poor for them in the two games. No mention of an injury.
