We could have Gordon banks behind our defence and he would look jittery

I saw enough in Nylands debut v Wigan that there was signs that we may have a bit of a dud. I saw enough yesterday to make me think he値l do ok.

Well, he is knocking on a bit, to be fair.

He wasn't great yesterday, let's hope it was nerves. The scene was set with their first attack though. From where I was in the Witton Lane the fans around me - whom I admit are amongst the most tiresome and negative in the game - didn't rate him from thereon in.

There was a woman near me who caused much amusement during the game with her verbal outbursts

The first goal was down to Hogan losing the ball on the edge of our box.
Kalinic had the misfortune to be behind a very poor defence.

This, Kalinic had initially punched the ball and it was a good punch but before he could settle himself the ball was right back at him and he was having to go to ground with a player sliding in on him. Didn't see much of the 2nd and 3rd as I was too busy trying not to die from the Flu but I thought he got better as the fame went on.

With a stick? Probably true Villa stalwart Lin.

I知 becoming more and more certain that the defence is making our keepers look much worse than they are. I知 sure that having our defence in front of you completely kills any decisive decision making and confidence.

Agreed. It must be chaos in front of him and Nyland before that. Not that both haven稚 made errors but balls are flying in from all over the place and they just don稚 know where the next mistake is going to come from. He made a superb save today to offset the goal he should have stopped.

Jury's out on Kalinic at the moment. Doesn't look like an upgrade to me.

He is 6ft 7in and is a pussycat, dominate your f**king area, rather have Steer to be honest!

With his size I was fully expecting a keeper dominating his box.

So far it seems he's as indecisive as Nyland on crosses. Not good. Does he speak much English?
